Overview
Rapid Tools™, based in Burlington, Ontario, was established in 2002 with the mission of improving commonly used hand tools through innovation, advanced design and superior engineering. The company designs and manufactures a complete line of high-quality utility knives and knife blades. The foundation of Rapid Tools is their patented, user-acclaimed Rapid Edge® knife blade that features a serrated edge with multiple cutting surfaces. Manufactured only by Rapid Tools, Rapid Edge blades cut better and last longer than any other blade, and will fit in most other utility knives. Rapid Tools knives and blades are available at the leading home improvement retailers in Canada and the United States (see Distribution).

Products
The cornerstone of the Rapid Tools line is the amazing Rapid Edge blade, with its patented, serrated design and three to five cutting surfaces. The blade reduces friction, stays sharp longer and cuts more evenly – and fits in almost all standard knives. The superiority of the Rapid Edge blade has been verified by top-notch independent testing, including the Bureau Veritas and the Handyman Club of America. Rapid also manufactures a complete line of stylish, easy-to-grip knives that produce a perfect cut every time. Some models have the Saf-T-Vue™ light that illuminates the surface below the cutting edge and warns if the blade is not retracted. Rapid knives have tough blade locks, slide-and-lock thumb control and oversized handle holes. Rapid offers many casing options, from multi-colored translucent plastic to die cast zinc.

Rapid Tools recently introduced the Rapid Shark™ – the only tool that combines a utility knife and a wire stripper in a rugged, ergonomic case. The wire stripper grip locks into the body of the knife when not in use. It is spring loaded for easy opening and comfortable cutting, with five stripping holes for removing insulation from 10 to 18 gauge wire. The tool includes a wire cutter and crimper. It has a four-blade storage compartment and a one-button, quick blade change feature. The Shark, which has patents pending worldwide, includes five Rapid Edge blades. It is available as a Home Hardware Benchmark Shark in Canada, and at Lowe’s, Ace Hardware and other retailers in the US.

Also new from Rapid Tools is their unique 25-blade Enviro-Friendly Pack with a spring loaded dispenser built right into the package. This means much easier handling of loose blades, less packaging weight and less waste to throw away.
